True to its fiercely independent and provocative spirit, Geneva based haute horlogerie house ArtyA unveils a new interpretation of its legendary collection of pictorial, organic art: a miniature work of art crafted by dial artist Dominique Arpa-Cirpka.
Merging Haute Horlogerie with the raw poetry of nature, this exceptional timepiece features a dial made from genuine exotic butterfly wings, enhanced by a celestial mosaic of natural stones.
WHEN THE EPHEMERAL
BECOMES ETERNAL
For this unique piece, Dominique Arpa-Cirpka composed a striking symmetry evoking a butterfly with outstretched wings, where incandescent reds and electric blues contrast with graphic black and white patterns.
Each wing fragment is collected with the agreement and under the strict oversight of the relevant authorities, ensuring an ethical approach that respects wildlife. Frozen for eternity through secret natural binders and pigments developed by the artist, the organic material retains its original iridescence and reacts hypnotically to shifts in light.
The back of the dial offers a striking textured contrast, pairing the roughness of dark mineral fragments with a milky way of blue lapis lazuli pastel dust, giving the piece a cosmic depth.
A GENTLE SETTING FOR
A WILD CREATION
To elevate this miniature masterpiece, ArtyA departs from its traditional steel or carbon cases in favor of a frosted, translucent setting, evoking the delicacy of a silk cocoon or a block of rose quartz.
The whole is harmoniously mounted on a high end leather strap with a pearled texture, in the style of galuchat, in a deep midnight blue, subtly echoing the mineral tones of the dial.
"Our signature has always been the creation of unique pieces with strong emotional charge," says ArtyA's management. "Dominique's work on butterfly wings brings a breath of lightness and pure poetry, which contrasts beautifully with the mechanical rigor of our Swiss movements."
